Cabot supports Children in Need for the 4th Year

On 18th November, the BBC held its annual Children In Need event, which raised an estimated £26.3 million. The primary fund raising route for the charity is telephone donations and pledges and call centres across the UK volunteer to provide the dedicated telephone resource to help. One of those teams is West Malling based Cabot Credit Management.

Cabot Credit Management, which employs over 425 people at its West Malling office, provides debt recovery services, helping people to resolve past credit difficulties. The business was for the fourth year running pleased to help the BBC on their Children in Need appeal day. A fantastic response from the public meant that the team took some 2400 calls in total and ensured £89,000 of donations were collected for the charity, and that excluded the team’s own in-house fund-raising efforts.

In-house, the team entered into the spirit of the whole event with a series of fund-raising activities providing a welcome opportunity to have some extra fun and raise money for a cause that the team is absolutely committed to. Fund raising activities included the Miss Cabot competition (males only), Manager’s Bush Tucker Challenge, Bingo, Executive Splat, raffles and a cake sale. In total, £2500 was raised, which was matched by the business to ensure a total of £5000 was donated to the Children in Need cause.

Group Chief Executive, Neil Clyne (himself well and truly splattered by one of many custard pies, at the Executive Splat) reflects; “A huge amount of energy goes into organising the support to Children in Need, and I am really pleased that people put themselves forward to make this happen. This is the 4th year that we have provided telephone support for the charity and I am delighted by the continued positive and enthusiastic response from all the staff in the fundraising activities leading up to and on the day, and naturally we are already committed to helping again next year”.
