Cabot Credit Management appoints a new Head of Financial Operations

Cabot Credit Management (CCM) has appointed Barrie Morris as Group Head of Financial Operations, with immediate effect.

Morris, a chartered accountant who has over 15 years experience in finance, will be responsible for the day to day running of Financial Operations which includes overseeing financial accounting records for CCM, monthly financial reporting to the board, co-ordinating annual budgets and ensuring the timely and accurate recording of collections received into the operational collection system (Collex).  He will report to Chris Ross-Roberts, Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Chris Ross-Roberts, CFO, said: “We are delighted Barrie Morris has joined our team and with his expertise we are sure he will continue to lead our Financial Operations from strength to strength."

CCM’s latest quarterly results, published in May, show a profit of  £8million for the quarter before tax which was up 6% on the same quarter in 2012, giving a strong platform for future growth which Morris’s team can continue to build on.

Morris joins CCM from Decision Insight Information Group (DIIG), a private equity backed business which was previously on the Toronto stock exchange, where he worked as Group Finance Director. This involved leading and managing the Finance team and overseeing accounting, treasury, corporate reporting, annual budgets and forecasts, business case modelling and working capital management. Previous roles, which have given him a breadth of finance experience, include Financial Controller for the management consultants Booz Allen Hamilton, Finance Manager for the Bill Gates Corbis Images and Assistant Manager for Grant Thornton.

Morris joins the company at an exciting time following the announcement that Encore Capital Group has entered into an agreement to acquire a 50.1% in CCM, making the company the largest global consumer debt purchaser.
